Willall Racing WR35WS Brake Cooling System for Nissan GT-R

2009年12月13日

wr35ws2

There’s many takes on effective methods of brake cooling. You can choose different vented rotors, build large air ducting systems, and now, you can watercool with Willall Racing’s WR35WS system.

It’s not a new invention but it is new to GT-R owners, the system injects water into the center of the rotor and offers many benefits such as, cooler brakes which leads to better braking performance for a longer period of time, prolonged pad life, and prolonged rotor life with fewer cracks developing.

The system consists of a central computer controller, hoses, fittings and brackets to mount enough gear to cool the front two rotors.

While some may see the direct injection of water onto the rotors as a controversial subject, top tier racing teams have been using the same type of technology with great results for many years now. Willall Racing have also conducted their own testing on their R35 system and found the improvement to be dramatic.

Alcon SuperKit Brake Upgrades for Nissan GT-R in US from SpeedForSale

2009年7月28日

alcon-gtr-100

Well we saw these first about a month ago, huge brake upgrades from UK based Alcon had made their way to a few early customers in Asia. The brakes are now officially available to all in Europe and the US.

July 27, 2009 – Alcon Components LTD, a world-wide leader in high performance braking systems and technology, has confirmed that SpeedForSale.com will be the exclusive North American distributor of their Nissan GT-R Brake SuperKits & OEM Lightweight Rotor Upgrades.

The official press release then goes on to give a few of the details of these mammoth brake kits, the largest currently available for the GT-R.

The GT-R SuperKit has the largest brake caliper, rotor, and pad upgrade available for the GT-R, with the front rotors having a massive 15.75” x 1.42” (400mm x 36mm) size, and the rear rotors coming in at 15.16” x 1.30” (385mm x 33mm.) The kit’s 2-piece floating rotors also include Alcon’s unique bobbin drive system and crescent groove pattern on the face along with 48 internal vanes with turbulators. The mammoth sized ‘Mono-block’ calipers are machined from solid billet and contain 6-pistons in both the front AND rear, along with dust seals, anti-rattle clips, ventilated piston inserts in the front, and utilization of the OEM parking brake in the rear. The brake pads included are Pagid RS9-2 models, with anti-squeal shims and a surface area of 33.6” square inches (217 square centimeters) in the front and 18.7” (121 sq cm) in the rear. High quality Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines complete the kit. And, best of all, these huge brakes fit inside the OEM 20” wheels and work with the stock brake actuation system!

Pretty much brake porn right there… Pricing on the full SuperKit is $12,990 including everything you need and a choice between Castrol and Motrul brake fluid.

If you’re looking at upgrading brakes but are quite content with the standard Brembo calipers, Alcon are now also producing a lightweight OEM replacement rotor kit. A full set of four, including hats, pre-assembled, ready to fit up will set you back only $3,500 or just $3,000 if you’re one of the first four to order at the link below

Password:JDM Release Ultimate Front Lip Spoiler for Nissan GT-R

2009年7月16日

284

It’s a big call but when you see what this front lip has to offer I’m sure you’ll agree that this is the ultimate in aero parts for your GT-R’s front end.

The Password:JDM front lip is constructed from dry carbon fibre reinforced with honeycomb matrix that’s designed to be extremely durable. This is no museum piece and is designed for guys who are going to drive their cars and occasionally, you know, meet a speed hump or, god forbid, drive up their steep driveway.

This lip is also completely modular, and has loads of options to choose from. You can fit strakes, brake ducting, skid plates and add on splitters to enhance the look and, more importantly, the functionality of the lip. Above you can see it in it’s raw form and below with the add on splitter fitted.

We mentioned brake ducts earlier and that is going to be interesting for a few of you. The GT-R sure could use some cooling on the brakes and this offers it in spades. The full carbon brake ducts again bolt onto the underside of the lip and force air onto the calipers

If strakes are your thing then Password:JDM give you that option as well with a set that easily bolt up to enhance downforce at the front.

So I’m pretty sure many of you will agree on this being the ultimate front lip and if you’re keen to get one head over to the Password:JDM website to contact them. We don’t have pricing or delivery dates yet but we’ll let you know as soon as we do.
