South Side Performance are not resting on the GT-R parts development just yet. After recently completing their SSP GTR820RR turbocharger upgrades for the Nissan GT-R they’ve now released this SSP 820RS intake manifold upgrade to suit.

After trying a few variations on the upgraded manifold theme, this shape was found to offer a consistent and linear increase in airflow and hence horsepower. All else being equal it was good for 15hp and 28ft/lbs of torque increase on the demo GT-R. Check the dyno chart below.

The SSP 820RS intake manifold is designed to bolt onto your stock fittings and throttle body. The beauty is that it’s also got some room to grow on that side of things if you choose to opt for a larger diameter throttle body at a later date. Something tells me something might be coming out soon in that department…

Total volume in the manifold is increased more than 100% over the standard item while the weight is actually decreased. Your standard engine cover will no longer fit on but your choice of aluminium or gloss black finishes are available.

Price is $2,699 and limited stock is available right now. Once the limited stock is sold units are built to order within about a week.

Buttonwillow Circuit got a workout today with the North American GTR Owners Club – NAGTROC – showing up for their track day meet. Among attendees were Z Car Garage, Kunani from Budez.com, AXIS Wheels, and lots of other NAGTROC members.

Nissan fans are up for a interesting November as Nissan in conjunction with Hot Import Nights and NICOClub are setting up a USA road show to launch the brand new Nissan Z34 Fairlady Z – the 370Z. Fifteen stops starting at the LA Motorshow on the 19th of November it passes through San Jose on the 21st of November.

So get down to Z Car Garage on the 21st to checkout the 370z as well as the Nissan GT-R featured at SEMA this week. Not only that but you could get into the draw to win a trip to Tokyo AutoSalon in January 2009.

Z Car Garage was given an extremely tall order when they were handed the keys to this customer owned Nissan GT-R just a week ago. A truck load of parts supplied by GT-RR also arrived with the car and they were tasked with putting it all together ready for SEMA in a handful of days.

A few sleepless nights later, after what was a very smooth build, we have the Status Racing Z Car Garage built Nissan GT-R show car. Modifications include:

Exterior

• Zele Carbon side skirts and rear underspoiler
• Zele Carbon grille
• MCR Carbon front lip spoiler
• MCR Rear LED Side markers
• OE Nissan JDM Clear front side markers
• Premier Protection matte black vinyl over front lip

• 20″ HRE C90 Competition Series Wheels
• Toyo Proxes T1R tires (285/30ZR20 front, 315/25ZR20 rears)
• Top Secret coilover sleeve suspension

• Status Racing carbon fibre racing seats w/leather and alcantara trim
• Black Alcantara headliner

Engine/Exhaust

• HKS Kansai Dual Titanium Exhaust
