<p>Forged Performance have been seeing great results using Arias FP Spec pistons in their VQ motor builds for years now so they decided to spec out and order a set up for a VR38DETT build they&#8217;re carrying out for a customer.</p>
<p>These are made from Zero Silicon Aluminum for maximum strength and feature tool steel offset wrist pins, and a pressure seal groove. They&#8217;re moly coated for lower friction and are capable of supporting a 1000hp build. The specs are 95.5mm, standard bore and built for a 9.0:1 comp ration. </p>

<p>Sharif from <a href="http://www.forgedperformance.com/">Forged Performance</a> has taken time out to post up an &#8220;<a href="http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=30249">Everything You Wanted to Know&#8230;&#8221; thread</a> over on <a href="http://www.nagtroc.org/">NAGTROC</a> regarding boost control on the Nissan GT-R. A great idea I though as one of the first things many a new owner thinks about is <em>more</em> power right&#8230; Therein is one of the beauties of forced induction.</p>
<p>The GT-R is no pussy cat to begin with but a tweak of the boost courtesy of a ECU tune, boost controller or actuator upgrade can open your eyes to a new level of power, even on the standard turbos.</p>
<p>If more-boost-done-properly is something you&#8217;re chasing for your GT-R you should check out this thread and if you have any questions ask away. Sharif and Forged Performance are recognized as being well ahead of the curve in terms of tuning the GT-R and have most likely come across your situation in the past.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.gtrblog.jp/category/tunernews/forged-performance/">Forged Performance</a> have been spending a lot of time at the track with their GT-R and have been turning some great laptimes with it in both stock and then mildly modified form. Having only changed the wheels, tires, suspension, ECU tuning and exhaust they&#8217;re read to take on some highly modified beasts in the extremely competitive Modified AWD class of the <a href="http://www.gtrblog.jp/category/racing/redline-time-attack/">Redline Time Attack series 2009</a>.</p>
<p>Last year saw some top level workshops enter their highly modified Evos and STis but this year should see a few GT-Rs I&#8217;d say.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.gtrblog.jp/category/racing/redline-time-attack/">Redline Time Attack Series 2009</a> begins on June 20th with round #1 at <a href="http://www.autobahncountryclub.net/">Autobahn Country Club</a> in Joliet, Illinois.</p>

<p>JRZ finished up development on a range of coilover suspension for the Nissan GT-R recently and it&#8217;s now available to buy through JRZ dealers. <a href="http://www.gtrblog.jp/category/tunernews/forged-performance/">Forged Performance</a> are the first dealer to get their hands on stock for the GT-R and they gave me a heads up on the details.</p>
<p>Designed for a range of applications from street to circuit, the Nissan GT-R suspension is made from the same technology used in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24_Hours_of_Daytona">2009 24hrs of Daytona GT</a> class winning suspension from JRZ.</p>
<p>Circuit tested and tuned for the GT-R by racing drivers as well as the JRZ engineering team, each set will come with custom spring rates depending on your intended application. </p>

<p>Well known Nissan parts and tuning company, Forged Performance, in cooperation with <a href="http://www.nagtroc.org/">NAGTROC</a> and Koni Challenge <a href="http://www.gtrblog.jp/2008/12/14/freedom-autosports-gt-r-goes-green">Team Freedom Autosport</a>, successfully completed, quite possibly the largest GT-R-only track day in the world. </p>
<p>On February 23, 2009, no less than 21 GT-R&#8217;s made the pilgrimage to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_International_Raceway">Virginia International Raceway</a> in Danville, VA to tackle this world renowned race track.  All skill levels were invited to attend, and the event went off without incident.  All the GT-R&#8217;s ran strong and reliably all day long, and many of the top drivers putting down some impressive lap times in fairly stock cars.</p>
<p>In addition to the seemingly unlimited amount of track time, Bryan Hise from JRZ Suspension, hosted a suspension tech session which highlighted some of the considerations involved when modifying the GT-R&#8217;s suspension system.  JRZ equipped GT-R&#8217;s set the fastest laps of the day, and attendees were invited to ride along and experience the track at speed. </p>
<p>Special thanks to Derek Whitis and his team, for their generous hospitality, and all the <a href="http://www.nagtroc.org/">NAGTROC</a> members that made this event most memorable.  Forged Performance hopes to make this a bi-annual event, so look for details on the upcoming Nov, 2008 VIR NAGTROC track event.</p>
