今年の東京オートサロンにおいてトミーカイラがとても印象的なR35GT-Rコンプリートカーをデビューさせたのを覚えていらっしゃる方も多いでしょう

そのトミーカイラエアロが、世界の限られた取扱店でお求めいただけるようになりました。北米と中東では、GTRBlogのスポンサーでもあるGT-RR.comが取扱店となっています。

Varis Runduce Price Carbon Aero Parts for Nissan GT-R

It’s not their widebody masterpiece (yet) but it’s the first stage of carbon fibre upgrades for the Nissan GT-R to come out of Japanese legend Varis. Renowned for their amazing Evo and STi work in the past we’re hoping their final stage of GT-R modifications “fills the shoes” so to speak.

Anyways, pricing is now out for both Japan and US regions thanks to Varis and GT-RR as well as the official product shots. Their kit will be available in Varis Semi Dry Carbon (VSDC) versions as well as wet carbon with separate pricing for each.

The VSDC option allows Varis to produce some very lightweight rigid parts without the full extra cost of a traditional dry carbon production.

The Varis Front Diffuser for example weighs in at 4.5kg versus the 6.5kg standard OEM front underspoiler – more than 30% weight savings. It’s priced at about $2740 USD but probably a little less for the wet carbon version.

Next take a look at the Varis Aero Hood, featuring some unique venting it also looks to be well constructed from underneath. The VSDC version goes for around the $4620 mark but the wet carbon version is just $2845. There’s a weight reduction to just 8.5kg in the VSDC version of the hood.

The rear diffuser round back is again quite an original look, personally I think it needs time to grow on me but if its your cup of tea you can pick one up for $1250 in wet carbon. There is currently no VSDC version of this item.

The sideskirts were quite a hit for me, they really work well with the lines of the car but stand out at the same time. They’re also pretty cheap at just $1250 a set in Varis Semi Dry Carbon. Again you can knock off a bit of that price for the normal wet carbon version if you wanted.

Lastly we have the Varis Rear Wing and Trunk Spoiler available in full VSDC or in VSDC with a FRP trunk spoiler. It’s again an original looking wing that will certainly set your car apart from all the others. I’m not feeling the trunk spoiler but the wing itself looks great. The price is $3350 for the VSDC version or $2750 for the VSDC FRP combo.

GT-RR Teams Up With Nissan GT-R Tuning Whiz John Shafer

Whether you know it or not but if you’re running a Cobb AccessPORT in your Nissan GT-R then it’s a good bet that John Shafer tuned your car. The man behind the development of the Cobb AccessPORT for Nissan GT-R, including the Stage 1 and Stage 2 maps distributed with it, has joined the GT-RR team as Master Tuner.

It’s a good bet that John is a fantastic resource to back the GT-RR team if anyone should ever need to turn to him for after sales support, custom tuning or advice. John will be also be working on GT-RRs latest project car documented here. Check out the release from GT-RR below for full details.

It is with great pleasure that we announce GT-RR’s newest member of our team of GT-R specialists. John Shafer has recently joined GT-RR officially as our Master GT-R Tuner. John will assist our projects and clients all over the world with technical support and custom tuning. GT-RR has already had a successful history working with John on various projects and we are excited to have him as an integrated part of our team to even better serve our clients needs.

John as many of you may know was the R35 GT-R tuning guru behind the development of the Cobb AccessPORT for the GT-R. John was also the first aftermarket tuner in the world to collaborate on the reverse engineering team for the GT-R’s ECU during his time working for Cobb. Since then John continued to make advancements to the Cobb unit, personally writing every map for every AccessPORT around the world. John has also served as a liaison for nearly every GT-R specialty tuning shop in North America. Amongst all of this, John has also written a tuning guide for Cobb which teaches their dealers how to tune the R35.

We at GT-RR are proud to take our level of service to new heights by adding John whom many would consider to be the most respected and experienced R35 GT-R tuner in the world.

Additionally, as you may have heard, we are now offering complete car building services on both coasts of the US as well as remote computer tuning worldwide. John’s tuning facility, Akuma Motorsports of Morganville, New Jersey has become our official east coast partner for our client projects. Toyo Proxes R888 Tires Available in Nissan GT-R Sizes Soon?

It might have been a bit of a long wait since SEMA 2008 until now but it may just be worth it. According to several suppliers around the net, the semi-slick R888’s will be available in Nissan GT-R suitable sizes like “real soon now”. GT-RR.com are taking calls now and Hashimoto Corp in Japan are already showing off their sets.

Sizes of 285/35-20 and 315/30-20 will be available and after nearly a year of perfecting the formula lets hope these are the perfect compliment to your GT-R whether your a casual track-goer or a utter nutcase for it.

Craftsquare Mirrors for Nissan GT-R – GT500 Parts for Your Street GT-R

You may or may not be familiar with the name Craftsquare but they’re responsible for building the lightweight aero wing mirrors for Nissan (and many other) team race car mirrors for many years now. Their current lineup of mirrors is the most attractive looking yet and Craftsquare are now making full direct fit carbon fibre wing mirror kits for the R35 Nissan GT-R.

GT-RR has partnered with Craftsquare and is working with Endless USA on getting these kits into your hands for your GT-R. The design is being finalised now, and while, unfortunately, it won’t look much like the GT-R’s SuperGT GT500 mirrors pictured above, the design should still add racing cred to your street GT-R. The final design is said to more resemble the GT300 Lamborghini’s mirrors and comes with the TCA-F designation.

When final pictures become available, we’ll update you but for now you can start the pre-order now to ensure you secure a set of the first production run. The price is set at $795 including all import costs from Japan.

Harman Motive New Parts Released: Downpipes, Intake Piping and More

Harman Motive have just dropped their latest press release with their new parts lineup for the 2009 and later Nissan GT-R including full details, results and pricing. It’s refreshing to have all in one place so thanks to Harman Motive for the effort on their part.

First up, and picture above installed, is the Harman Motive Intercooler Piping Kit – aka the HM-GTR-ICPK – it’s a full kit of polished alloy piping to replace your standard garden variety, flexible rubber items. The piping increases pipe diameter by 3/4″ to 2 3/4″. The internal surface helps to smooth airflow and provide a more consistent high velocity air intake charge. They fit up to all the standard sensors and even your standard BOVs.

As you can see in the dyno chart above, the full intake system (HM-GTR-ICPK plus the HM-R35-CAI cold air intake) produced a decent gain in horsepower and torque from the mid range up. The Intercooler Piping Kit alone retails at the $1,395 mark but the kit together with the CAI in a package is $2044. All made in the USA.

Next up are the HM-GTR-DPK Catless Downpipes for Nissan GT-R. These lower exhaust restriction significantly by ditching the primary cats. Made from stainless steel they’re designed to be completely direct fit replacements. Also made in the USA they come in at $1,195 a set.

PPG Full Gear Set for Nissan GT-R Released

There are many options on strengthening the GT-R’s gearbox coming to market these days but none so mind blowing as the full gear set we just laid eyes on from Pfitzner Performance Gearboxes (PPG) out of Australia. The full first through sixth gear upgrade is manufactured from high-carbon steel, CNC’d to PPG’s specs which increase gear contact area by up to 40% (first gear). Combine the superior materials used with the heat treating process and the gears are up to twice as strong as standard.

These should suit the high power street GT-R to around the 700 – 900 hp (engine) range.

TRUST GReddy T6 Turbo Kit in Development for Nissan GT-R

Well given the right amount of time this was bound to happen. Trust are quite far along the development of their brand new low mount twin TD06SH turbo kit for the Nissan R35 GT-R. Thanks to Garage Saurus we’re seeing these up close and personal photos of the kit fitted to the Trust development GT-R.

The kit will feature a brand new original stainless manifold design which, as we said, tucks the GReddy TD06SH-20G turbos up nicely in a low mount configuration. This replaces the concept of the manifold combined with the turbo exhaust housing which could allow a variety of other turbos to be fitted – provided the size constraints are met. There’s twin external wastegates featured in the kit as well as a set of matching stainless flexible dump pipes.

According to GT-RR.com the kit should be good for about 880hp and be available in a matter of months. Of course as a GReddy / Trust USA and Japan distributor you can rely on the GT-RR guys to get your name down in line for one of these kits and you can find out more about that at the link below.

GT-RR Launch Carbon Dry Japan Parts for Nissan GT-R

GT-RR has teamed up with Japanese carbon parts manufacturer Carbon Dry Japan to launch their extensive range of Nissan GT-R parts globally. Carbon Dry Japan is already known for producing parts for other tuners such as Esprit for whom they manufacture Esprit Dry Carbon GT Wing 262 and front grilles. Having just been launched in Japan, GT-RR has already setup a partnership with the company to distribute globally and so, available now, is the full range of parts from aero to interior including:

  • Dry Carbon Side Skirts
  • Dry Carbon Front Canards

The quality of Carbon Dry parts has to be seen in person to fully appreciate. I checked out the Esprit parts recently and was impressed with what I saw. I think for the price you’d have pay for these items that’s something you might want to do before you make the jump.

Okada Project Plasma Direct Coils for Nissan R35 GT-R

Okada Projects (OKD) has launched their Plasma Direct coil upgrades for the VR38DETT this week. The direct fit upgrade coil pack provides stronger spark under a wider range of conditions versus the OE coils. They should be the first stop for an upgrade for those noticing ignition issues under high boost. The Plasma Direct technology offers a 4x spark strength increase which should net you a gain in power and torque across the rev range, especially, again, for cars running more boost than standard.

OKD has been supplying coil packs to some serious competitive racing teams in Japan for some time, big names like M-Speed’s time attack R34 GT-R, Midori Seibi Center’s time attack R34 GT-R and Garage Saurus’ drag and time attack R32 GT-Rs.

These retail for around 155,000 yen in Japan but you can pick them up for just $1,395 from you local GT-R parts dealer, GT-RR.
