Practice is over and the race is on in less than 1 hr. Teams are ready, pit crews are ready.
Results from the morning practice sessions show the GT-R is still extremely potent setting another 2:12 laptime (2:12.967) again putting it third outright in terms of practice lap times.
Other cars in the top five were:

Closing out the last of the free practice sessions on Saturday and in practice the Motul Nismo R35 GT-R had set the outright 3rd fastest time around Tokachi Speedway. Each of the three drivers had a session in the GT-R and the pit crew got a good work out as well.
Yesterday’s top times accross all classes were:
- BMW Z4M COUPE 2’08.145 ST1
- NISSAN FAIRLADY Z 2’10.819 EC2
- MOTUL NISMO GT-R 2’12.748 IP4
- MITSBISHI LANCER 2’14.038 ST2
- MITSBISHI LANCER 2’16.247 ST2
Sunday’s free practice sessions have begun already also as we count down to the 3:00PM JST start time for the race. Updates soon with how we are doing today.

It’s a big effort competing in a 24 hour endurance race like the Tokachi 24hrs this weekend and to seriously compete you need some serious spares. Here’s a glimpse of Nismo’s pit area with the brake rotor, caliper and pad spares they expect to use during the race.
As for the race itself, clouds have begun forming over Tokachi Speedway and showers look to be coming so will the GT-R get to prove it’s AWD mettle over the majority RWD field? Let’s see!

The Motul Nismo GTR-World R35 GT-R continues to be the center of attention at the Tokachi 24hr endurance race scheduled to start soon.
In practice today, on “S” tires (Bridgestone RE55S) the GT-R set a 2:12.748 lap time. Spectators are saying the car is fast enough to challenge the Super Taikyu 1 (ST1) class down the straights but due to the S tires it’s not cornering as fast. That is amazing however as the ST1 class is the fastest class in the race and on full slicks. The GT-R is entered into the International Production 4 class.
Predictions are that if it rains the AWD advantage the GT-R has may upset a lot of ST1/ST2 teams! Even on a dry circuit some teams are going to be shocked.

The Motul Nismo GTR-World R35 GT-R was out on Tokachi Speedway Friday testing during the free practice sessions. The car was out twice in the morning session, once later in the afternoon and twice during the night practice session. It’s critical to test under night conditions because so far all previous testing in this brand new car has been during the daylight while the actual race is 24hrs long.
This practice also gave the pit crews a chance to practicing their tire changing, refueling and brake caliper/rotor changing.
The tires being used are the Bridgestone RE55S tire. These tires are providing a high level of grip but other classes are able to run full slicks. So far though in practice the GT-R is keeping up with the Super Taikyu 2 (ST2) class Evo’s! There is obviously a wealth of performance potential in the GT-R.
