先日の豪雨により、富士スピードウェイのある小山町に大きな被害が起きています。

– SUPER GT第5戦レースレポート –

7月25日　スポーツランドSUGO （宮城県）
SUPER GT第5戦の決勝レースが、7月25日（日）にスポーツランドSUGO（宮城県、一周3.704km）で行われ、前回優勝の「カルソニックIMPUL GT-R」（#12 松田次生/ロニー・クインタレッリ）が4位、出走13台中予選11位からスタートした「HIS ADVAN KONDO GT-R」（#24ジョアオ・パオロ・デ・オリベイラ/安田裕信）が5位に入賞。ポールポジションからスタートした「MOTUL AUTECH GT-R」（#23 本山哲/ブノワ・トレルイエ）はスタートから2位以下を大きく引き離し、74周目までレースをリードしたが電気系トラブルが発生し6位フィニッシュとなった。

公式予選からGT500クラスをリードし続けたのは、#23 GT-Rだった。トレルイエは、前日の予選スーバーラップで2位に0.4秒もの差をつけてポールポジションを獲得。決勝レース日の朝に行われたフリー走行でもトップタイムをマークしていた。午前中は気温が35度を超えていたものの、その後サーキット上空に雲が広がり、決勝レースのフォーメーション走行が始まった午後2時には32度に下がっていた。

レースがスタートすると、トップを走る#23 GT-Rのトレルイエは、ハイペースで後続を引き離しにかかり、1周目にコントロールラインを通過したときには既に2位に3秒差をつけていた。その後、周回を重ねるたびにその差を広げていき、30秒を超える大きなマージンを作って50周目にピットインし、本山にドライバー交代した。競り合いでコースアウトしたり、バックマーカーと接触するなどアクシデントが少なくないこのコースで、#23 GT-Rはアクシデントフリーの単独走行を守り、途中パラパラと降り出した雨にも惑わされることもなかった。残り31周を無理せずに安定したラップタイムで走行すれば、優勝の確率は高いと思われた。しかし、レースが90％を消化した後の74周目に、突然本山がドライブする#23 GT-Rはコース上にストップ。再始動するまでにタイムをロスしてしまう。本山によると、「エンジンのメイン電源が突然落ちた。しばらくしてからスイッチを入れ直すと電源が入り、再スタートした」とのこと。チームは原因究明を進めている。

前回優勝のためGT-R勢では最大のハンディウェイト（66kg）を積む#12 GT-Rは、6番グリッドから松田がレースをスタート。序盤に他車のアクシデントのため4位に上がり、その後3位、2位へとポジションを上げた。45周目にピットインし、クインタレッリに交代したあとは、5位でレースに復帰。終盤には#23 GT-Rのトラブルによって4位にあがり、そのままフィニッシュした。ドライバーズランキングは3位にあがり、チャンピオン獲得に向けて手応えを感じた星野一義監督は、ドライバー達の手を握りしめねぎらいの言葉をかけていた。

「HIS ADVAN KONDO GT-R」（#24 ジョアオ・パオロ・デ・オリベイラ/安田裕信）は、予選順位は11位だったがレース中のマシンは快調で、オープニングラップに2台をパス。その後3周目には7位に浮上。スタートドライバーのオリベイラは、一時後続に抜かれる場面もあったが、レース折り返し時点には5位を走行していた。6位でレースに戻った後半担当の安田もミスのない確実なドライビングで周回。最終的には5位にポジションをあげてゴールした。

■#12 GT-Rドライバー、松田次生のコメント
「4位の結果には少し悔しさは残るけど、チャンピオンシップを考えれば良かったと思います。ロニーも良い仕事をしてくれました。シリーズ後半戦は、チャンピオン目指してがんばりたいと思います。まずは、次の鈴鹿700kmでポイントをたくさん取りたいですね。」

■#12 GT-Rドライバー、ロニー・クインタレッリのコメント
「重いクルマで4位入賞できたし、ランキング3位に上がれたのでハッピーです。鈴鹿ではふたり力をあわせてポイントを取り、残り2レースで勝負をかけたいです。昨日も今日も暑い中、たくさんのファンの皆さんに応援していただき、ありがとうございました。次の鈴鹿も是非パワーを送ってください」

週末のSUPER GT第1戦ではGT-Rが優勝を飾ったことはお知らせしたとおりですが、ホンダのニューカーHSV-10が不発に終わりました。10ラップ目にターン1でホンダの3台の真新しいレースカーはすべて姿を消すことになったのです。

幸運なことにドライバーは無事でした。

他にもドラマがありました。それは下のレースのハイライトビデオでご覧いただけます。GT300クラスの4台のクラッシュシーン、ポールシッターだったWeider HSV-10がポジションを落とすシーンなども含まれています。その数ラップ後には、優勝を飾るHIS ADVAN GT-Rがコーナーをオーバーランするシーンも。

これらの出来事はすべて 2周目 に起こりました。

SuperGTに参戦するチームの合同テストが週末、三重県の鈴鹿サーキットで開催されました。GT-Rで参戦する2チームやディフェンディングチャンピオンのトムス・ペトロナスSC430、そして注目のホンダの新車HSV-10などがテストを行いました。

HIS KONDO GT-Rがスピンしてあわやクラッシュというシーンもありましたが、シリアスなダメージはありませんでした。

Nismo は #23号車と #230号車の GT500 GT-Rを持ち込み、#23号車に本山哲選手が、#230号車にブノワ・トレルイエ選手が乗りました。2010年仕様は3.4リッターV8のVRH34Aエンジンを搭載、力強いサウンドを出していました。ホンダのニューカマーに栄光をとられてしまわないように、奮起を期待しています。

日産とNISMOは今日、2010年のモータースポーツ体制発表を行いました。日本のスーパーGT選手権では、NISMOの枠は1枠減り、3チームとなってしまいました。2008年は5チーム、2009年は4チームでした。

2010年スーパーGT選手権GT500クラスは以下のチームで参戦します。

• #23 Nismo モチュール・オーテック GT-R （本山哲／ブノワ・トレルイエ）
• #12 IMPUL カルソニック・インパル GT-R （松田次生／ロニー・クインタレッリ）
• #24 KONDO RACING HIS ADVAN KONDO GT-R （ジャン・パウロ・オリベイラ／安田裕信）

今シーズンのGT-RはスーパーGTのレギュレーション改訂に伴い、今までのVK45 V8 ユニットから VRH34A 3.4 リッターエンジンに変更になりました。VRH34Aに関するテクニカル情報が入り次第詳細をGTRBlogではお伝えする予定です。

SuperGTレースカーに加え、NISMOは2010 FIA GT選手権に2010 FIA GT1 Nissan GT-Rで出場するチームのサポートを行います。2チームの参戦が決まっており、4月中旬にUAEのヤス・マリーナ・サーキットでシーズンが開幕します。

FIA GT選手権に参戦するスモウ・パワーGTとスイスレーシングチーム の活躍を期待します。

東京オートサロン初日の金曜日に撮影した、GT-Rの写真を紹介します。

まず最初に緑整備センターのかっこいいGT-R。新作サイレントハイパワーNRマフラーが装着されています。また、レイズのフォーミュラシルバーのVOLK G2ホイールを装着、ホットなルックスです。ホイールの間からはAlcon ブレーキローターが見えています。

Alconのブレーキディスクですが、GTRBlogはAlconのNissan GT-Rブレーキアップグレードを細かに見ましたが、ものすごく真剣に作られています。AlconはストリートカーからF1マシンまであらゆるカテゴリのクルマのブレーキを作っています。GT-Rのブレーキとの隣に展示してあるのは、SUPER GTレースカーのブレーキキャリパーです。スーパーGTのブレーキキャリパーはその特殊な構造もありものすごく軽量で、その隣に展示されているF1用ブレーキキャリパーに近いものがあります。ゴールドのアルマイト塗装も通常の塗料より軽量です。

モータースポーツのトピックのついでに、日産ブースには2008 SUPER GT選手権でGT500クラス優勝をしたNISMO GT-Rがピットワークのデモンストレーションで展示されていました。タイヤ交換したり、パーツを車両から取り外して見せたりして、パーツが以下に軽量かを見せていました。

パワーエンタープライズは4チャージャー VR38エンジンを展示していました。今年、パワーエンタープライズはGT-R用のターボアップグレードキットを発売予定です。この4チャージャーエンジンの作りこみは実によくできていて、目を見張るものがあります。この4チャージャーエンジンについては、1年前のオートサロンで発表されて以来新しい情報がないため、その後の進捗が気になるところです。

橋本コーポレーションのGT-Rは、ランボスタイルドア（LSR）を装着しています。シュミーデン・フロントリップスポイラーも装着されていますが、その性能も気になるところです。BBS LM-R ホイールも人気でした。

そして最後に、R35 GT-R 以外のスカイラインやスカイラインGT-Rを紹介しましょう。まず、ER34スカイラインセダンのR35GT-Rルック。リヤバンパーは、R35のマフラーが収まるように作り直されています。Final KonnexionのER34ワイドボディキットも目を惹きました。ギャラリーをご覧ください。

2010年シーズンの開幕を控え、スーパーGT の合同テストが鈴鹿サーキットで開催されました。

ホンダ HSV-10が姿を見せたことで、注目はHSV-10に集まっていましたが、GT-Rもテストをしっかりとこなして今いた。ボディパーツにもいくつかの変更点があるようです。

フロントフェンダーは、2009年後半にIMPULやADVANチームが採用していたものが標準採用となったようです。2009年にはこのフロントフェンダーはNISMOチームの車両には見られませんでした。

そのほかについては害感情は大きな違いはなく、#1のカーナンバーが#23に戻ったくらいです。

ホンダの新型車HSV-10のパフォーマンスも楽しみですし、GT-Rの活躍にも目が話せません。

更新情報: 鈴鹿サーキットの発表によると、今回のテストでの最速タイムはレクサスSC430Sで1分53秒14とのことでした。

また、NISMOは同じ走行枠でFIA GT-1スペックのレースカーもテスト。こちらはマイケル・クルムがドライブしていました。600psを誇るFIA GTレース仕様GT-Rのラップタイムは2分01秒132で、500psのGT500仕様GT-Rは1分54秒787でした。

SuperGT 2009 is over and with it is the long career of the GT500 Honda NSX that was a staple of the series for so long. In it’s place, Honda have ressurected the cancelled NSX replacement, and sought a rule exemption to do so, for the 2010 season.

The GT500 class HSV-10 GT will debut in the first race of 2010 but was captured here testing at Suzuka circuit in Japan.

It certainly looks like Honda are well into the development on this car and that it’s an attractive beast. Should be an exciting season opener in March 2010 as the GT-R fights off the newcomer!

Nismo and Nissan have given motorsports fans a bit of an early Christmas gift this year by releasing a few new wallpapers from SuperGT and FIA GT championship season. I’ve hosted up the new ones and some classics from 2009 and 2008 as well.

The season is over and while the results are not the back to back championships we hoped for it’s still not a horrible result. To think it all came down to one tire not holding up…

Thanks to Nissan who again provide a race report and high res photos. This is the last we’ll see of SuperGT until Nismo Festival, just under one month away where they will all reappear for one last battle.

NISSAN GT-R finishes third in the Championship
– SUPER GT Round 9 Race Report –

November 8th, Twin ring Motegi (Tochigi prefecture)
Sunday, November 8th saw the final round of the 2009 SUPER GT series taken place at Twin Ring Motegi. Aiming at title glory, the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (#1 – Satoshi Motoyama / Benoit Treuyer) qualified in fifth place and put in a spirited drive in the race until tyre trouble slowed the car’s progress. The results netted third place for Satoshi Motoyama in the Driver’s standings, while NISMO were third in the Team’s title fight.

In a surprising and unfortunate turn of events, team Nismo has had their 2009 SuperGT GT500 class points lead snatched away in the final round of the season at Motegi this weekend. Hopes rested on the #1 MOTUL Autech GT-R drivers Satoshi Motoyama and Benoit Treluyer to bring home the prize but it was not destined to be.

The guys put in a good effort in qualifying to begin the race from fifth place on the grid. When the race kicked off the battle was fierce between the GT-R and the #38 SC430 early on for fourth position which placed extra pressure on the tires. Then, a front tire lockup during a heated corner entry saw enough damage done to cause a blowout also resulting in a complete loss of the front left fender. The team pit for repairs but it was too late to save the race.

The result was just 1 point for the round while their competitors in the Lexus SC430, team Petronas Tom’s scored 18 – enough to slingshot them to first. Team ARTA in their NSX managed an even larger 23 point bounty to pip Nismo by a single point to get second place.

A fairly unfortunate end to the season for the GT-R teams overall considering the number of wins they were clocking up throughout the year.

Looking forward now to how the SuperGT series evolves for 2010 and to the Nismo Festival 2009 celebration on the 6th of December.

- SUPER GT 2009 Round 8 Race Report -

October 18th, Autopolis International Racing Course (Oita prefecture)
On Sunday, October 18th, Autopolis International Racing Course played host to Round 8 of the 2009 SUPER GT series, the ‘SUPER GT in Kyushu 300km’ race. Starting third, the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (#1 Satoshi Motoyama/Benoit Treluyer) finished on the second tier of the podium, taking an important step towards a second successive title.

Team Nismo battled heavy weight handicaps to finish second for the penultimate round of the 2009 International SuperGT Championships at Autopolis in Kyushu, Japan today. Winner of this round was the #36 TOM’s Petronas Toyota SC430 which takes it’s first win for the season. In third place was the #24 HIS ADVAN Nissan GT-R of team Kondo Racing.

The second place finish nets Nismo valuable points in securing their place at the top of the teams ranking for 2009.

NISSAN GT-R Maintains championship lead with 2nd step on the podium
- SUPER GT 2009 Round 7 Race Report -

September 13th, Fuji Speedway (Oyama Town, Shizuoka prefecture)
Amidst favourable autumnal weather, Fuji Speedway hosted an action-packed Round 7 of the SUPER GT series, the “FUJI GT 300km RACE.” After qualifying 2nd, the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (#1 Satoshi Motoyama/Benoit Treluyer) started from the front row, adding championship points in the race and edging one step closer to taking a second consecutive championship title.

Team Nismo were hoping to make it three GT-R wins in a row at Fuji Speedway today as they began the race from the front row of the grid after qualifying in second place in a very wet Superlap yesterday. It was not to be however as Team ARTA (Autobacs Racing Team Aguri) brought home their #8 NSX in first place for their first SuperGT season 2009 victory.

The #1 Motul Autech Nismo GT-R did manage to snatch a handful of points off their nearest championship rival team for the round however as they passed the Petronas Tom’s #36 SC430 with just two laps to go to finish in second. A great result for team Nismo who continue to carry the most “success ballast” in the field with an added 48kg of weight in the car. With this under their belt, they have a comforting 11 point lead over Petronas Tom’s on the ladder.

The next GT-R to finish was the #3 HASEMI TOMICA EBBRO GT-R in sixth place. This leaves them with an additional 8 points for the round which pushes them ahead in the championship rankings to equal third position with Team Yoshiko (Rockstar #18 NSX). This in turn bumps Team Zent Cerumo down to fifth spot, and all with just two rounds of the season left!

Not the best race for the #24 HIS ADVAN KONDO Racing GT-R nor the #12 IMPUL Calsonic GT-R who finished 13th and 15th respectively. A point finish is what both teams needed, especially Kondo Racing who were in a attractive 6th position on the ladder but will now drop.

Nissan have published their 10 strong photo gallery in high res from SuperGT round six at Suzuka from last weekend. A couple of good shots that are certainly background worthy for some so inclined.

August 23th, Suzuka Circuit (Suzuka city, Mie prefecture)
Round 6 of SUPER GT, the “INTERNATIONAL Pokka SUMMER SPECIAL” (Suzuka 700km Race) took place at Suzuka Circuit. After qualifying 2nd, the HASEMI TOMICA EBBRO GT-R (#3 Ronnie Quintarelli/Hironobu Yasuda) ran a strong race to take the second step on the podium. In addition, the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (#1 Satoshi Motoyama/Michael Krumm), which had qualified 12, finished 6th, protecting its position at the top of the championship points’ standings.

In only the second round of 2009 SuperGT season not to be won outright by a Nissan GT-R, the SC430 Toyota campaigning KRAFT team has pulled out a pole to win victory for the 700km Pokka GT 2009 race at Suzuka Circuit. Not to be forgotten however, the #3 Hasemi Tomica Ebbro Nissan GT-R GT500 entry was right behind it managing second place in the long day of racing.

The second place position for this round gives team Hasemi Motor Sport 18 total points for the weekend’s racing. This pushes them into 5th place overall in the team rankings due to their win in round 4. Not a bad thing at all considering their unlucky streak in other races of season 2009.

The #12 IMPUL Calsonic Nissan GT-R entry was the next best placed GT-R on Sunday, finishing in 5th. Surprisingly however, it was closely followed by the #1 MOTUL Autech GT-R which was weighed down with 86kg’s of success ballast making it the heaviest car on the circuit. They began the race from 12th place after a fuel problem in qualifying so to come away with 8 points all said and done is not a bad outcome.

Starting from P12 Motoyama had a tough first stint as he showed to have a good pace that would allow us to run quite at the front, but as he was stuck behind another car, we saw our race kind of slip away already. With over 80 kg of Handicap weight in the car (heaviest car in the field), there was no way to overtake today.

The race itself was incredibly hot and sticky for the teams, drivers and cars. On track temps soared up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 F) and a fire in the pits involving the #8 ARTA NSX compounded the troubles with confusion and safety car periods.

The results overall for teams are positive however, team Nismo extends it’s lead out by two more points to be 7 in front of nearest rival Petronas TOM’s. Hasemi Motor Sport’s improvement means that two GT-R teams in the top 5 will make for a great latter part of the season as we count down just three more races to go.

Let’s hope the GT-R can make back to back championships for this year so fans get another big party at Nismo Festival 2009 at Fuji Speedway.

Well in case you didn’t know, the 2009 model SuperGT GT500 specification car differs quite a bit from the 2008 model car from the same series. Rule changes made for this season had the effect of limiting rear downforce by shortening the rear overhang maximum. Nismo completely redid the rear end aero, rear wing and front aero to compensate and to make the most of the new regulations. They then went and added improved cooling to the car which is critical in the sweltering summer races like Sepang Circuit in Malaysia.

Ebbro have produced two new models to kickoff the 2009 SuperGT GT-R range – a 2009 #1 MOTUL Autech Nismo GT-R and a 2009 Okayama Test car used during aero prototyping at Okayama circuit. Cars representing each team are also planned so also look out for a IMPUL Calsonic #12, Hasemi TOMICA Ebbro #3 and a WOODONE ADVAN Clarion #24 model to follow.

Ebrro models are superb in quality but limited in production, especially the test car versions. Pick them up while you can!

Michael Krumm will return to the MOTUL Autech #1 Nismo GT500 Nissan GT-R hot seat in two weeks time to sit in for regular driver Benoit Treluyer. Krumm who, in the past would be piloting the second team Nismo GT500 GT-R (if there was one this year) has taken the year out to drive for Nismo’s FIA GT team in Europe while development continues of the 2010 specification FIA GT1 GT-R. He will co-drive the Round 6 Pokka International Summer Special race at Suzuka Circuit, a race that has traditionally been known as the Pokka 1000 due to being a 1,000 km race. The rename comes after the event is shortened to 700km this year.

Krumm started the 2008 Pokka 1000km at Suzuka on pole position but faces a tough challenge to repeat it. The car is burdened with “success ballast” since team Nismo is leading the championship. To top it off, he will only have a short few laps to reacquaint himself with the car which has changed in terms of aero package since 2008.

Treluyer has to skip the round after receiving what is known as a “Moral Hazard Penalty”. Yeah… Veteran and 2008 champion, Satoshi Motoyama will be co-driving with Michael.

The Pokka GT Summer Special begins Saturday 22nd of August for qualifying with the final on Sunday 23rd of August. After this, it’s back to Europe where he will drive in the final FIA GT round for the GT-R’s 2009 season on 25th October 2009 at Zolder in Brussels.
