JUN Auto Engine Parts in Development
One of the most widely respected Japanese hardcore engine development workshops is lead by charismatic Junichi Tanaka-san. Based in Tokyo they’ve built some serious gear for customers interested in the top end of the horsepower range and they already have no shortage of customers who want the magic 1000hp from the VR38DETT. The name of the company, of course, is JUN Auto.
Recently he’s unveiled the plans they’ve made so far on getting there from here, 485ps to 1000hp and they’re exciting.
Starting in April and May JUN will focus considerable effort on the internals of the Nissan R35 GT-R’s enigmatic VR38DETT. Top of their list are:
- Billet Crankshafts
- Billet Connecting Rods
- Billet Pistons
- Billet Camshafts
Should be some interesting times and I’m hoping we’ll see a JUN Super Lemon R35 in in the not too distant future. Check out after the jump to see a test drive of JUN’s 1000hp R33 GT-R.

At JUN, the software only for cam profile designs is used, and the automatic design by the computer is performed. In order to test the cam shaft designed on the desk, the engine bench system of JUN which has combustion pressure measurement equipment is used.
Are these engines going to be available to the US? JUN seems to carry a great reputation. I run a business revolving around engines and always like to be up to date on JDM engine info.
