VQMotoring’s 3.5″ Turbo Back Exhaust – Mufflers? Pfft…

VQMotoring, one of the first recipients of the new US delivered Nissan R35 GT-R back in July (two of them actually) recently completed some of the first modifications. A full 3.5″ turbo back exhaust system deleting cats, mufflers and anything else that might get in the way of that VR38DETT’s scream.

Utilising the standard exhaust tips the exhaust looks stock until you push the start button and instantly it is transformed into something entirely different. Check out the YouTube video for a sample.

Their car is also now featuring aftermarket 20″ wheels and Mine’s Low Down springs.

another resourceful way to grab some HP..but i wouldn’t go for that sound either…i’m going to stick with the more traditional exhaust flow.( i know, call me old fashioned)

US delivered? as in a ‘grey’ car.. notice one pic has JDM rear side marker lamps (clear) while the other one has not…

It’s US Delivered = Not a grey import. I asssume he bought some JDM side markers and fitted them after the first photo.

Wow… that’s annoyingly loud and incredibly displeasing to the ear. BLEK! That being said, hearing the turbo spool down was interesting. You do not hear that on a stock car. I wonder how much those straight pipes were opening everything up.

It would be cool if a company could come up with a bypass valve for the exhaust, which would allow the exhaust to exit either directly straight out or with a push of a button redirect the flow into a muffler. That way you could get best of both worlds, Max power and conveniance.

There are products like that for cars, but the downside is a dump valve from the down pipe results in an annoying loud and terrible sounding exhaust.
