GTRBlog.com was at the Melbourne Motor Show this morning for the official Australian launch of the R35 Nissan GT-R. Nissan Australia CEO Shinya Hannya set expectations of first deliveries in early 2009 while remaining tight lipped on pricing. Nissan PR was overheard mentioning that they would struggle to release the car in 2008 but the mention of that alone gives hope for them actually meeting the 2009 deadline.
To mark the launch Nissan had a silver Japanese Spec GT-R on display which we will feature in an upcoming photo gallery but for now enjoy these preview images.

JDM-Insider blog has a good report with some more details coming out of the M-Workz workshop in Gardena, CA. They had the engine out of the car while they re-assembled it after importation so had a good opportunity to look over the thing. A good set of photos accompany the post so go and check it out at the link below.

Doing it the hard way, two private owners imported GT-R’s into the US in pieces due to strict import regulations. Importing the shell separately from the engine and transmission they needed to re-assemble the cars after landing. The first of the GT-R’s is back together today.

Harrison have completed their cat-back titanium exhaust for the R35 GT-R. You will certainly remember Harrison from their striking Lamborghini orange R35 GT-R which debuted at Tokyo AutoSalon 2008. The parts from this car have been slowly trickling into production like the carbon NACA ducts.
The interesting part about the Harrison exhaust is that it exits on only one side of the car. While a weight saving and obviously an improvement for flow it does look kinda odd.
